Philanthropy

The members of Alpha Sigma Tau are dedicated to contributing our share to the progress of mankind. Philanthropy is a vital part of each of our lives and of our sisterhood.

National Philanthropy | Pine Mountain Settlement School

 Pine Mountain Settlement School first served as a boarding school to give children of all ages the oppourtunity of book learning and education for life. It now focuses its efforts on providing environmental education programs to children of the area and visitors from across the nation. Pine Mountain Settlement School continues to serve the current needs of children by providing an intervention program which offers tutorial services to help students maintain their required academic achievement levels.

 

National Service Project | Habitat for Humanity

 Habitat for Humanity believes that every man, woman and child should have a decent, safe and affordable place to live. Alpha Sigma Tau women to do everything to working a build, donating building supplies, water and food for volunteers, and monetary support. 

 

Local Philanthropy | United Way of Rhode Island and RAINN

The Epsilon Pi Chapter of Alpha Sigma Tau works with United way to help individuals and organizations to ensure that all Rhode Islanders have the opportunity for a high-quality educational experience, can earn and manage money, can live in stable and affordable housing, and can rely on a safety net in a crisis, enabling them to be a contributor in the community. 

The Epsilon Pi Chapter of Alpha Sigma Tau also works with RAIIN, Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network and Day One. Both are programs against sexual assault towards women in domestic violent situations.
